Welcome

Welcome to the web site for the Northwest Ohio Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. Through this site, public relations professionals can link with resources on membership, the public relations practice, and the wide range of events and services the chapter offers its members.

The 70-plus members of our chapter, founded in 1951, represent more than 300 agency, corporate, government and non-profit organizations in the northwest Ohio area. The Northwest Ohio Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America hosts a variety of programs to help public relations professionals in and around the Toledo area stay connected.

Monthly Luncheon Meetings

Monthly luncheon meetings give professionals a chance to network and learn from first-hand accounts. Speakers run the gamut from media panels and the mayor to some of the region's top public relations executives.

They are timely such as the meeting we flew in from New York the communications director for the September 11th Fund. Or hearing from DaimlerChrysler about its international merger.

They are relevant. Speaking on crisis communications have been leaders from Cooper Tire and Rubber, United Way of Greater Toledo, The American Red Cross and Cedar Point.

And they are enjoyable. Although meetings are generally held at The Toledo Club, we have traveled around the Glass City to destinations such as the Toledo Museum to hear about its centennial celebration, the Toledo Zoo and the Toledo Speedway. We have even learned about branding frogs!

Professional Development Seminars

Each year the chapter holds one full or half-day Professional Development Seminar that tackles a particular topic, examining it in depth. Recent topics have included media training, strategic planning and relationship building via new technologies.

Membership Directory

Members will receive a Membership Directory networking them to other public relations professionals in Northwest Ohio. This is available free to members only and is a great way to get and stay connected in our local business and public relations community. Members: Make sure your directory information is current, especially if you have a change of address or other information. To update membership information, visit www.prsa.org and notify the chapter membership director.

Jobline

This members-only service is a great way to learn about positions in our community when they first become available–before they are even announced to the public. For employers, our Jobline is a great way to find qualified applicants. Look for the Jobline in the e-newsletter

The On-line Chronicle

The monthly e-newsletter will keep you informed of all the goings-on and provides a vehicle for member news as well.

Social Get-togethers

Holiday or after-work outings are a great time to relax, enjoy each other's company and make new friends.

Leadership Opportunities

Advancing the professional and advancing the profession. There's no better way to do this than through PRSA. There are plenty of opportunities for involvement and leadership. Contact the president or chapter administrator to find out how.

International Conference

This can be one of the most rewarding parts of membership. The international conference is a wonderful educational and networking experience–a great way to grow professionally.

Regional and National Resources
